Greenbush, MN

Located in northwestern Minnesota where Highways 11 and 32 meet, Greenbush is a friendly small town of around 700 residents. The town got its name from an Ojibwe term referring to green spruce, and it first grew as Scandinavian, Polish, and Bohemian homesteaders settled the area in the late 1800s. What began as a settlement along an old glacial ridge soon shifted toward the rail lines, growing into the welcoming agricultural community it is today.

For a town its size, Greenbush has a surprisingly strong local economy, anchored by Central Boiler, a homegrown outdoor furnace manufacturer founded here in the 1980s. Day-to-day life is relaxed and family-friendly, with plenty of spots to get outside, including neighborhood parks, the municipal pool, and Oak View Golf Course. It is a quiet, comfortable corner of Roseau County that offers open space, supportive neighbors, and an easygoing northern Minnesota pace.
