Greenbush, VA

Greenbush is a census-designated place in Accomack County, Virginia, on the Eastern Shore. The 2020 census counted 224 people, and the CDP sits at an elevation of about 43 feet. The surrounding county is a patchwork of farmland, marsh, forest, and small historic communities, so Greenbush reads through its farms and roads more than through a concentrated commercial center. The site remains part of Accomack's farm country.

The place's clearest historic landmark is Hills Farm, also known as Hunting Creek Plantation. Richard Drummond III built the house in 1747 on a 600-acre plantation bordering Hunting Creek, and the property was later listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register and National Register of Historic Places. The farm gives Greenbush a direct link to the colonial and plantation-era landscape of Accomack County, while modern county roads carry the everyday traffic.
