Greenville, MI

Located about thirty miles northeast of Grand Rapids, Greenville offers a quiet, small-town atmosphere surrounded by the woods and waters of western Michigan. Home to nearly 9,000 residents, the community has deep roots along the Flat River, where it grew from a 19th-century lumber hub into the birthplace of the Meijer store chain. Today, the town balances its hardworking history with a relaxed pace, giving newcomers plenty of room to spread out while staying within an easy drive of the city.

Day-to-day life here revolves around the outdoors and a close-knit community. You will find swimming and picnic spots at Baldwin Lake Beach, local shops along historic Lafayette Street, and scenic walking paths on the paved Fred Meijer Flat River Trail, which loops around the city. Every August, the whole town turns out for the Danish Festival to celebrate Greenville's heritage with parades and artisan markets. With neighborhood schools and a simple commute down M-57, it is an easy place to settle into.
