About Gregory

Gregory is a San Patricio County city that began in 1887 as Corpus Christi Junction, where the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway met a spur toward Corpus Christi. The Coleman-Fulton Pasture Company gave land for the town, built cattle pens, and helped bring a post office and school. The name Gregory honors U.S. attorney general Thomas Watt Gregory. Incorporated in 1951, the city later changed as the La Quinta Ship Channel expanded nearby. Gregory is a South Texas place whose first identity was railroad junction, then cattle town, then port-side city.
