Grosse Pointe Woods, MI

Grosse Pointe Woods is a Wayne County city and one of the five Grosse Pointes northeast of Detroit. Unlike the others, it has no direct Lake St. Clair shoreline, though the city owns a park in neighboring St. Clair Shores. Much of Grosse Pointe Woods took its present form in the mid-20th century, giving it a postwar residential feel layered onto an older settled area. It is tidy, suburban, and closely connected to the schools and civic culture of the Grosse Pointe communities.
