About Guilford Lake
Guilford Lake is a Columbiana County census-designated place wrapped around the reservoir that carries its name. The lake began in 1834 as a feeder reservoir for the Sandy and Beaver Canal, giving this small Ohio community a transportation history well before the state park and campground arrived. Guilford Lake State Park now follows the shoreline, while the United Local School District serves the surrounding homes. Guilford Lake is an Ohio lake community whose map still connects canal engineering, reservoir water, and school roads.
