About Guttenberg
Guttenberg is a tiny Hudson County town on the Palisades, facing Manhattan across the Hudson River. Its land area is small even by New Jersey standards, but it is densely urban, with apartment towers, older streets, and quick access to North Hudson transit and shopping. The town developed from land once owned by William Cooper and later sold to New York investors in the 1850s. Guttenberg's strongest everyday fact is its geography: compact, vertical, and directly across the water from New York City.
