Hagerman, ID

Hagerman sits above the Snake River in the Hagerman Valley, where geothermal water, springs, fossils, and fish culture all belong to the local map. The city is near Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument, known for its Pliocene deposits and the Hagerman horse, and the Thousand Springs rise from the Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer nearby. Warm water also supports the Hagerman National Fish Hatchery, state hatchery, and aquaculture operations. The local story reaches in two directions at once: millions of years of fossil beds underfoot, and a working valley shaped by irrigation, springs, research, and fish production. Hagerman is one of those Idaho towns whose geography tells the work as much as the scenery.
