Halawa, HI

Hālawa follows two stream valleys inland from Puʻuloa, or Pearl Harbor, on Oʻahu. North and South Hālawa streams meet within the H-3/H-201 interchange; highways occupy much of the lower valley, while commercial and light-industrial areas extend along H-3 and residential sections include Foster Village and the stadium area. Hālawa had 15,016 residents in 2020. Camp H. M. Smith, headquarters of the United States Indo-Pacific Command, is here, along with Aloha Stadium and the Hālawa Skyline station at the valley’s base. In Kanaka Maoli tradition, Puʻuloa is the home of the shark goddess Kaʻahupahau, a protector of Oʻahu who enforced fair conduct among sharks and people.
