About Halma

Halma sits on U.S. 59 in Kittson County where County Roads 7 and 20 meet the Soo rail corridor. A post office opened in 1904 and closed in 2009; Main Street still holds the city hall, and Railroad Avenue preserves the older transport pattern. The highway and county roads connect Halma with the other small towns of northwestern Minnesota and the surrounding farm country. Its compact grid remains organized around the mail, rail, and road links that established the city.
