Hamburg is a historic borough in Berks County, Pennsylvania, situated along the Schuylkill River at the base of Blue Mountain. Originally laid out in 1779 as Kaercher Stadt and home to the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum, the community of approximately 4,456 is served by the sprawling Hamburg Area School District, the largest by area in the county.
