Hamlet, IN

Hamlet is a quiet, tight-knit town in Starke County with a population of fewer than 800 residents. Set among the open farmland of northwest Indiana, it offers a peaceful, laid-back setting with plenty of space to spread out. While it has the feel of a classic rural retreat, its location right along the U.S. 30 corridor makes commuting or running errands in larger neighboring communities like Plymouth or Knox straightforward and convenient.

Residents have access to a local branch of the Starke County Public Library right in town, along with neighborhood parks and easy access to outdoor recreation across the county. Hamlet also holds a fun piece of cosmic trivia: a meteorite that landed here back in 1959 is permanently preserved in collections at both Chicago's Field Museum and the Smithsonian.
