Hampton, NJ

Hampton is a quiet Hunterdon County borough nestled in the scenic Musconetcong River valley. Originally settled around 1800, the town grew around a bustling rail crossing and was known as Junction Borough throughout much of the nineteenth century. That early railroad era gave Hampton its compact, walkable layout, which still defines the community today with quiet residential streets, classic older homes, and a distinct small-town feel.

For families, younger students attend Hampton Public School from pre-K through fifth grade before moving on to regional schools for middle and high school. The Musconetcong River runs right along the edge of town, offering popular local spots for trout fishing, kayaking, and riverside walks. Route 31 passes right by the borough and connects directly to Interstate 78, giving residents an easy drive toward the Lehigh Valley or east toward the New York metropolitan area.
