Hanlontown is a city in Worth County, Iowa, United States. The 2020 census counted 206 residents. Hanlontown is part of the Mason City Micropolitan Statistical Area. Hanlontown was founded on October 9, 1899, when a portion of the Chicago and North Western Railroad was built in the southwestern part of Worth County. Prior to the merger it was in the North Central district.
