About Harbison Canyon

Harbison Canyon is a census-designated place in San Diego County, California, situated in a scenic valley twenty-three miles east of San Diego. The community of approximately 4,300 is named for John Harbison, a prominent nineteenth-century pioneer and apicultural scientist who established a bee-keeping homestead near the Sweetwater River in 1874. Today, residents enjoy the natural setting and a local oak-shaded county park.
