Hardeeville is a Jasper County city near the Savannah River and the South Carolina-Georgia line. The region's early European history includes Purrysburg, a Swiss Huguenot settlement founded in 1732 along the river. Modern Hardeeville has grown with the Lowcountry and Savannah-area economy, and it is home to University of South Carolina Beaufort Sand Sharks baseball.
