Harrietta, MI

Tucked into the quiet forests of Wexford County, Harrietta is a tiny village with deep logging and railroad roots. It was founded in the late 1800s, getting its quirky name from a blend of the town founder's father, Harry, and his fiancée, Henriette. With only about 230 residents today, it is the kind of close-knit community where neighbors know each other and life moves at an easy, relaxed pace.

Daily life centers around a small cluster of streets with a park, a local history museum, the village hall, and the post office. Every August, the community comes together for the annual Harrietta Blueberry Festival, filling the neighborhood with parades, live music, and fresh berry sales. The surrounding woods offer plenty for outdoor lovers, including the Oliver Family Nature Trail, a historic state fish hatchery, and quiet fishing spots along Slagle Creek.
