About Harrietta

Harrietta is a village in Wexford County of the U.S. state of Michigan. The 2020 census counted 151 residents. The village is split almost evenly between Slagle Township on the west and Boon Township on the east. The community first platted in 1889 along the Toledo, Ann Arbor and North Michigan Railway. Harrietta makes sense once you see how its past, landscape, and current gathering spots overlap. The useful thing to know about Harrietta is that its older landmarks and current settings belong to one connected place. Harrietta was recorded with the spelling Harriette, which early founder James Ashley chose from combining his father's name of Harry and his fiancé Henriette Burt.
