About Harrison

Harrison is a census-designated place in Hamilton County, Tennessee, part of the Chattanooga metropolitan area. Named after President William Henry Harrison, the community was once the county seat of Hamilton County before 1840. The area is home to Harrison Bay State Park, a 1,200-acre park along the Chickamauga Lake shoreline, and Bear Trace Golf Course, a course designed by Jack Nicklaus. Public education is provided by the Hamilton County Department of Education.
