About Hartwell

Hartwell is a city and the county seat of Hart County, Georgia, situated in the Piedmont region near the Savannah River. Founded in 1854 and located four miles southwest of its namesake reservoir Lake Hartwell, the historic agricultural community of approximately 4,562 is served by the Hart County School District for public education locally.
