Harvey, ND

Harvey is a Wells County city at the headwaters of the Sheyenne River, where the Soo Line built a division point in 1893. The town was named for Colonel Scott William Harvey, a Soo Line director, and the railroad still has a physical presence at Memorial Park in the form of a 1903 Soo Line steam engine. The surrounding map opens toward Lonetree Wildlife Management Area and Butte de Morale, about six miles northeast, while the North Country National Scenic Trail reaches the area. Harvey is a north-central North Dakota town with a railroad name, open prairie around the river, and a strong trail-and-wildlife connection.
