About Hastings-on-Hudson
Hastings-on-Hudson is a Westchester County village along the Hudson River, north of New York City. The area was part of the primary settlement of the Weckquaesgeek Algonquian people, and its geography is shaped by both the Hudson River and the Saw Mill River. Modern Hastings has a distinctive river-town feel, with hillside streets, commuter rail access, older homes, and views toward the Palisades. It is suburban, but its waterfront, village center, and layered history give it more character than a standard bedroom community.
