Hayti, MO

Hayti was platted in 1894 when the railroad reached eastern Pemiscot County. The city sits just west of the Mississippi River, with Interstate 55 cutting through its eastern half and linking the Bootheel to Sikeston and Blytheville, Arkansas. The 2020 census counted 2,493 residents. That position gives Hayti a strong transportation frame: a railroad-founded city, a river-border landscape, and an interstate corridor running through its edge.

Hayti R-II organizes local school life through two elementary schools and Hayti High School, which serves grades 7-12. Conran Memorial Library sits on East Main Street, and Three Rivers College provides a regional higher-education connection in southeast Missouri. City utility payments, school buildings, and library programs make the main streets practical daily reference points, while I-55 keeps the city connected to larger towns across Missouri and Arkansas.
