Hebron, MD

Hebron is a Wicomico County town on Maryland’s Lower Eastern Shore, part of the Salisbury metropolitan area. The 2020 census counted 1,113 residents, and the town was incorporated in 1931 after growing around a late-19th-century railroad depot. In 1890, the Baltimore, Chesapeake and Atlantic Railroad reached west from Salisbury, tying Hebron to the agricultural and manufacturing trade of the peninsula. The town’s older landmarks include the Maple Leaf Farm Potato House, Spring Hill Church, St. Giles, and Western Fields. The Hebron Train Depot still gives the town a physical story.

Local volunteers began organizing its rescue in 2010, and the group has worked on the roof, chimney, exterior, and interior with the long-term hope of creating a railroad and town-history museum. Westside Intermediate School adds a present-day school reference, while Salisbury handles larger regional errands and connections.
