About Henderson
Henderson is a Baxter County census-designated place of 309 residents, first counted separately in 2020. It sits on the east bank of Norfork Lake, about ten miles east-northeast of Mountain Home, with U.S. Routes 62 and 412 doing the practical work of tying the community to the rest of the county. The post office carries ZIP 72544, which gives this unincorporated place a recognizable address of its own.
Most of Henderson falls within the Mountain Home School District, while a small section belongs to the Viola district. That split is a good glimpse of how rural Arkansas places work: the community has its own name and boundary, while daily services stretch toward neighboring towns. Norfork Lake supplies the big geographic backdrop, and Mountain Home is nearby at the center of the school district and county map. Henderson is small on the census map but easy to place once you follow the lake and the two highways. The lake is the first thing you notice.
