Hickox, GA

Hickox is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in south-central Brantley County, four miles south of Nahunta on U.S. 301. The 2020 census counted 234 residents. The highway runs north toward Nahunta and south toward Folkston, while a north-south CSX line follows the same corridor. That combination gives Hickox a long, linear geography: homes, roadside parcels, rail crossings, and pine-country roads running through the county. The road and rail lines make distance easy to read on the map, even between small crossroads.

Brantley County's government and schools are centered in Nahunta, so buses, county offices, and larger errands pull Hickox toward the county seat.
