Hilliard, OH

Hilliard grew around a Piqua and Indiana Railroad station built across land that John Reed Hilliard had purchased in 1852. First called Hilliard’s Station, the Franklin County community is now a Columbus suburb within Norwich Township; 37,114 people lived there in 2020. The broader area lies between Big Darby Creek and the Scioto River, while a historic district along Norwich Street preserves varied residential architecture. The Early Television Museum and First Responders Park are among the city’s sites. The Heritage Rail Trail begins on Center Street in Old Hilliard, and the recreation department oversees more than 25 parks. Nearby Don Scott Airport supports general aviation and Ohio State University aviation classes.
