About Hills and Dales

Hills and Dales is a small village in southeastern Jackson Township, about two miles west of Canton. Property developers coined the name for the rolling terrain, and the village grew as a suburban enclave within the Canton–Massillon metropolitan area. State Routes 297 and 687 pass east of the village, while county roads provide access to its residential streets. Lake Cable lies to the north, and Tam O’Shanter Golf Course and Brookside Country Club are nearby.

Plain Local School District serves Hills and Dales, with Avondale Elementary the closest public elementary school and GlenOak High School part of the wider district. Canton supplies county services, employment, health care, shopping, and cultural options, while the village handles its own council, roads, properties, and neighborhood routines. With a few hundred residents and a high share of detached homes, Hills and Dales feels more like a small residential pocket than a freestanding commercial town. Its character comes from the terrain, the surrounding Canton area, and the space between suburban streets and nearby recreation.
