Holiday Beach, TX

Holiday Beach sits on the eastern shore of Copano Bay along State Highway 35, about 11 miles northeast of Rockport. It began in the mid-1960s when Dallas investors formed Copano Land Company and started selling lots, so the community's layout comes from a planned waterfront subdivision more than an old courthouse or railroad town. The bay and the highway do most of the orienting: water on one side, Rockport's services to the southwest, and Gulf Coast weather shaping the practical map.

That weather became part of the community's modern history when Hurricane Harvey made landfall at Holiday Beach in August 2017 and storm surge heavily damaged homes, roads, and utilities. Aransas County's 2025 hazard planning continues to treat Holiday Beach and nearby Copano Village as exposed coastal communities, with reconstruction and flood protection tied to the bay. Public education connects through Rockport-Fulton ISD, and the neighborhood's present-day life still revolves around waterfront roads, storm preparation, and access to Rockport.
