About Holt
Holt is a large census-designated place in Delhi Township, just south of Lansing. The first permanent settlers, John Norris and Fred Luther, arrived in 1837, and the area grew into one of Michigan's more populous unincorporated communities. Holt Public Schools, including Holt High School, are central to local identity, and the area is also known for an ancient glacial esker. Holt feels like a practical Lansing-area suburb: residential, school-focused, and close to state government and Michigan State University without being inside either city.
