Holtville, AL

Holtville is a quiet, scenic community settled along the western shore of Lake Jordan in Elmore County. Home to around 5,000 residents, it offers a relaxed rural setting where daily life often revolves around the water. Locals frequently call the area Slapout, a nickname rooted in an old storekeeper’s habit of telling customers he was “slap out” of supplies. Much of the neighborhood stretches along peaceful lakefronts and winding country roads, giving it a friendly, small-town atmosphere.
