Hominy, OK

Tucked into the rolling Osage Hills, Hominy is a quiet small town with deep roots in Native American heritage, ranching, and the early Oklahoma oil boom. Named after Osage leader Ho’n-Mo’n-I’n, the community grew around early trading posts and rail lines at the turn of the twentieth century. In the 1920s, the town fielded the legendary Hominy Indians, an all-Native professional football squad that famously defeated the NFL champion New York Giants.
