Hornbeak, TN

Hornbeak is a town in Obion County, Tennessee, United States. The 2020 census counted 511 residents. Hornbeak is part of the Union City, TN–KY Micropolitan Statistical Area. Prior to the establishment of the town, in 1854 a school was started in what locals refer to as "old Center Cemetery," which is located just south of modern-day Hornbeak. Hornbeak is in the Obion County Schools. The through line in Hornbeak is the way its history and present-day settings remain visible on the same map. Hornbeak makes the most sense through those concrete details, with its history still visible in the settings people use today. The school stayed in operation until 1885.
