About Hornell

Hornell is a city in Steuben County, New York, situated along the Canisteo River south of Rochester. Settled in 1790 as Upper Canisteo and subsequently named for the prominent pioneer Hornell family, the manufacturing and residential community of approximately 8,152 is served by the Hornell City School District for public education locally.
