Hospers, IA

Hospers is a Sioux County city along the Floyd River, founded when the St. Paul and Sioux City Railroad reached the site in 1891. The railroad brought a town into the open farm country, and the name honors Henry Hospers, the banker and developer who helped draw Dutch immigrants and other settlers to Sioux County.
