About Hot Springs
Hot Springs is a Garland County resort city in the Ouachita Mountains, built around the natural thermal springs that gave the city its name. Hot Springs National Park is the central landmark, preserving Bathhouse Row and the old spa-town identity. The city also has a wilder history than many Arkansas towns, with Major League Baseball spring training, illegal gambling, speakeasies, and gangsters such as Al Capone all part of its past. Today it mixes tourism, lake recreation, Oaklawn racing, gardens, and mountain scenery.
