About Hudson
Hudson is a Lenawee County city surrounded by Hudson Township, and the two names mark separate governments on the same patch of Michigan. The city took its name from Dr. Daniel Hudson, an original landowner, while the downtown still carries the nineteenth-century commercial shape built around the area’s early growth. The Hudson Museum and the city’s old clock story add local texture: a clock made in Fremont, Ohio spent seven years in a church tower before arriving here in 1874. Hudson is a Michigan city with a township around it and a clock that took the long way home.
