Hughson, CA

Hughson is a small Stanislaus County city east of Ceres and north of Denair, in California's Central Valley. Hiram Hughson arrived in 1882, bought land, and eventually owned thousands of acres, giving the city its name and agricultural roots. Hughson is known especially for peach production, and the surrounding orchards still shape its identity. The city has local schools, neighborhoods, and a compact small-town feel, with Modesto close enough for jobs and services. It is agricultural Central Valley life at a human scale.
