Hurley, MS

Hurley is a Jackson County census-designated place in southeastern Mississippi, stretched along Mississippi Highway 613 between Lucedale and Pascagoula. The 2020 census counted 1,557 residents. Highway 614 branches along the southern edge toward Wade and the Alabama line, so Hurley has the feel of a rural crossroads with the Gulf Coast just beyond the tree line. It is part of the Pascagoula metro, but the local map is still made of pine woods, farm roads, churches, and school campuses. Jackson County schools give Hurley a full local school ladder, with two elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school.

Pascagoula is about 24 miles south for county-seat errands and coastal jobs, while Lucedale is about 23 miles north for another round of groceries and services.
