Idabel is a city and the county seat of McCurtain County, Oklahoma, situated in the scenic tourist region of Choctaw Country. Established in 1902 as a railroad station and home to the Museum of the Red River, the community of approximately 6,987 is located near the Little River and is served by Idabel Public Schools.
