Idaho Springs, CO

Located about thirty miles west of Denver along Clear Creek Canyon, Idaho Springs blends gold-rush history with convenient mountain living. Home to roughly 1,800 people, the town centers around historic Miner Street, where colorful Victorian storefronts house local breweries, cafes, and longtime favorite eateries. Because the community sits in a narrow canyon alongside Interstate 70, usable land is limited, so neighborhoods tend to be compact and often climb right up the surrounding hillsides.

Daily life here revolves around the outdoors, with Mount Blue Sky, natural hot springs, and Loveland Ski Area all within easy reach. Families are served by the Clear Creek School District, while Denver provides access to major healthcare and larger job markets. Anyone moving here should prepare for mountain realities, as winter storms, rockfall, and heavy I-70 ski traffic can easily disrupt travel. Even so, residents enjoy a friendly, historic town with great hiking and skiing right in their backyard.
