About Immokalee

Immokalee is a large census-designated place in inland Collier County, far from the resort image of coastal Naples. The region was settled by the Calusa people, and the Seminole Tribe of Florida maintains the Immokalee Reservation here, including casino operations. Modern Immokalee is also strongly associated with agriculture, migrant labor, and the working interior of Southwest Florida. It is one of those Florida places that feels culturally and economically distinct from the beaches only a short drive away.
