If you want wide-open space and a quiet rural pace, Indian Springs is a small western Maryland community set between Clear Spring and Hancock along Route 40. Living here puts thousands of acres of scenic woods right in your backyard at the Indian Springs Wildlife Management Area. Residents spend weekends trout fishing on Blair's Valley Lake, hiking trails up Fairview Mountain, or heading just down the road to Fort Frederick State Park.
