Industry, TX

Industry is a quiet Austin County community with deep roots and around 300 residents. Founded in 1831 by Friedrich Ernst, it is known as the very first permanent German settlement in Texas. Ernst's glowing letters back home drew waves of European immigrants to the area, and the town earned its name from the hardworking reputation of those early pioneers. Today, it offers a peaceful rural setting surrounded by open pastures and scenic country roads.
