About Iola

Iola is a Waupaca County village named for a Potawatomi princess, with the Iola–Scandinavia school district serving the area. The name is the old story, but the summer event is the big local calling card: the Iola Car Show brings 130,000 attendees, 2,500 show cars, and 4,000 swap spaces. For years, Krause Publications also gave the village a publishing connection through its hobby and numismatic books. Iola is Wisconsin village life with an unusually large car-show weekend, a name rooted in Potawatomi history, and a school district shared with neighboring Scandinavia.
