Jamaica Beach, TX

Set along the quieter West End of Galveston Island, Jamaica Beach offers relaxed coastal living between the Gulf of Mexico and West Bay. Originally developed in the late 1950s, this small enclave has grown into an independent city of around a thousand full-time residents. Daily life revolves around the water, featuring canal homes where boaters and anglers can dock right behind the house, alongside beachside streets just a short stroll from the sand.

Jamaica Beach has a friendly, small-town feel where golf carts are often the easiest way to get around. Residents have their own dedicated municipal services, a community pool, and a local park, while staying only a short drive from Galveston's grocery stores, medical centers, and restaurants. With Galveston Island State Park sitting right next door, neighbors also enjoy easy access to kayak launches, quiet shorelines, and coastal walking trails.
