Jamestown, IN

Jamestown is an Indiana town straddling Boone and Hendricks counties, established in 1830 and platted in 1832 by founder James Mattock. It briefly served as Boone County’s first county seat before the legislature moved that role to nearby Lebanon. The county line still matters in everyday life: the Boone County side falls in Western Boone Community School Corporation, while the Hendricks County side belongs to Northwest Hendricks.
