Jefferson borough (Greene County), PA

Jefferson is a borough in northeastern Greene County, surrounded by Jefferson Township and centered on Pennsylvania Route 188. The road carries the borough east toward Dry Tavern and west toward Waynesburg, while the South Fork of Tenmile Creek runs just north. That setting gives the town its shape: a compact crossroads settlement in the middle of a larger rural township, with the creek and two-lane state route doing much of the local orientation.

Greene County lists Jefferson as settled in 1795 and named for Thomas Jefferson.
