Jeffersontown, KY

Jeffersontown, known to locals simply as J-Town, is an energetic community located about eleven miles east of downtown Louisville. While it is part of the greater Louisville Metro area, J-Town operates as an independent city with its own city council, dedicated police department, and responsive public works crew. In the evenings and on weekends, the scene shifts toward Gaslight Square. The district features restored gas streetlamps, popular local breweries and cafes, a seasonal farmers market, and the massive annual Gaslight Festival every September. Neighborhood parks like Skyview Park keep families active with youth sports leagues, playgrounds, and splash pads, while nearby paved trails give runners and cyclists plenty of room to stretch their legs.
