Jenkintown is a borough in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, situated ten miles north of Center City Philadelphia. Named in honor of Welsh pioneer William Jenkins, the historic residential community of approximately 4,727 operates its own independent public school system through the Jenkintown School District, which serves local elementary and secondary students.
