Jennings, MI

Jennings is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Missaukee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The 2020 census counted 229 residents. The CDP is located mostly in Lake Township with a small portion extending north into Caldwell Township. Jennings was a lumbering center founded by Austin and William Mitchell, who named it for William Jennings Bryan. Jennings makes sense once you see how its past, landscape, and current gathering spots overlap. The useful thing to know about Jennings is that its older landmarks and current settings belong to one connected place. A post office opened on March 8, 1883, with J. Jennings is in western Missaukee County, bordered to the east by Crooked Lake. Jennings is 7 miles by road west of Lake City, the county seat, and 10 miles northeast of Cadillac.
